BIG BARN FIRE AT BARKING

A large barn used for stabling and storehouse purposes, situated at the rear of St Pauls Church was destroyed by fire on Sunday afternoon. The wooden thatched building burnt with astonishing rapidity, with the roof and walls falling in about two-and-a-half-hours after the discovery of the outbreak. The firemen prevented the flames from reaching nearby buildings.
